The Humane Society of Westchester is dedicated to promoting the human-animal bond through the compassionate care of stray, lost, abandoned, and injured animals. We strive to provide a transitional home that prepares every animal for a loving, permanent family.
Founded in 1911, our organization has spent over a century protecting animals throughout Westchester County. From our early days as the New Rochelle Humane Society to our current role as a regional resource, we have remained committed to kindness and the belief that pet ownership is a lifetime commitment.
As a no-kill facility, we focus on providing a healthy, low-stress environment for the hundreds of animals that pass through our doors each year. Our modern shelter in New Rochelle is designed with plenty of sunlight and fresh air to ensure our residents feel comfortable while they await their forever families. We are proud to serve 19 communities across Westchester, offering rescue, medical treatment, and daily enrichment.
Adoption is a joyful partnership, and our goal is to match each pet with a home that suits their individual personality and needs. Our dedicated adoption counselors work closely with you to understand your lifestyle, ensuring that every placement is the right fit for both you and your new companion. We encourage the whole family to meet the pet, so you can start your new life together with confidence.
Are you ready to meet your new best friend? We invite you to view our adoptable animals online or contact us at 914.632.2925 to schedule an appointment. We are open for visits from 10am to 4pm and would love to help you find the pet of your dreams.
