Helping Hounds Dog Rescue provides a compassionate approach to dog rescue by matching homeless dogs from overcrowded shelter systems with loving homes. We are dedicated to providing a forever lifeline, ensuring every dog receives the love, safety, and care they deserve.
Our story began in 2008 when a small group of citizens came together to save a momma beagle and her puppies from euthanasia. Since our incorporation in 2009, we have grown from a small rental space into our dedicated facility on Caswell Street in North Syracuse, which we have called home since 2020.
We work to find forever homes for rescue dogs in the Central New York area, often partnering with out-of-state shelters to provide an alternative for dogs in overcrowded systems. Our 501(c)(3) non-profit organization is funded by donations and adoption fees, allowing us to provide essential medical care, including spaying or neutering, vaccinations, and microchipping for every animal in our care.
Adoption is at the heart of what we do, and we take great pride in carefully matching each dog with the right family. Our team is committed to supporting you long after the adoption day, providing resources and training guidance to ensure a smooth, successful transition for your new companion.
