Sadie’s Safe Harbor Canine Rescue is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization passionately dedicated to giving dogs a second chance at a happy life. We believe every animal deserves a loving future, regardless of their background or the medical care they may require to get there.
Why We Do It
Our organization was founded on the belief that our furry friends deserve support, whether they are direct owner surrenders or rescues from local and out-of-state shelters. We serve our community as a vital resource, advocating for responsible pet ownership and the importance of spaying and neutering to ensure long-term animal welfare.
Our Foster-Based Approach
We do not operate a physical shelter; instead, our rescue thrives thanks to a wonderful network of dedicated foster homes across the Western New York area. Living in these safe, loving home environments allows our dogs to flourish while they wait for their perfect match. This community-focused model allows us to provide individual attention and positive, reward-based training to every dog in our care.

As a “best match” rescue, we prioritize finding the right fit for both the dog and the family over a first-come, first-served process. We take the time to learn each dog's personality to ensure that the transition into your home is as smooth and joyful as possible. Our team is committed to supporting our adopters long after the adoption is finalized, providing guidance and friendship throughout the journey.
