Oswego County Humane Society Inc.

Our Mission

The Oswego County Humane Society is a dedicated animal welfare organization committed to providing essential programs and services to people and their pets throughout our community. We believe in the power of second chances and strive to ensure that every animal has the care and protection they deserve.

Why We Are Here

For 26 years, we have served as a pillar of support for Oswego County, focusing on the welfare of animals and the people who love them. We recognize that responsible pet ownership is a community effort, and we are proud to offer resources—from a pet food pantry to humane education—that help keep pets happy and healthy in their homes.

Our Commitment to Care

We are currently transforming our facility on Mitchell Street into a state-of-the-art animal welfare center to better serve the needs of our local animals. While we complete this exciting renovation, our animals are thriving in a dedicated network of foster homes. By welcoming these pets into temporary homes, our fosters provide the love and stability needed for every animal to find their perfect, permanent match.

Finding Your New Companion

Adoption is a joyful partnership, and we are here to help you find the right addition to your family. We are transparent about our processes and focus on making thoughtful connections that result in lifelong bonds. Whether you are looking for a new best friend or exploring ways to support our mission, we are excited to help you start this journey.
