10/11 - 💔 Toby’s world didn’t just change… it shattered. We met Toby (#V28985) when he was just a puppy. He grew up in a home, doing his best to navigate painful skin allergies with the people he loved. But when his care became too much, he was returned to us at 8 years old. Then, a miracle - he found a foster through our Pet Sponsorship Program. For years, he knew comfort again. A soft place to land. Someone who understood him. Someone who loved him. And then… in an instant, it was gone. A sudden medical emergency took that person away from him, and at 12 years old, Toby is back in a kennel. Alone. Confused. Heartbroken. He doesn’t understand the noise, the stress, the constant coming and going. He’s a gentle, sensitive soul who should be spending his golden years curled up beside someone he trusts… not waiting behind kennel doors. Toby’s medical care is fully covered. 10/11 - 🚨 JESSIE NEEDS A HERO!🚨 Jessie (#G26864) has spent far too much of her life waiting for someone to choose her. Rescued from Georgia as a puppy, she was adopted, only to be returned just three months later when her family felt her puppy energy was “too much.” When Jessie came back to us, she was a completely different dog than the happy puppy who had left our care. Our Pet Behavior team worked closely with her, providing the guidance, training and support she needed to build confidence and learn new skills. Now, after growing up in our adoption center, Jessie is struggling again. When stressed, she can become fixated on spinning and chasing her tail. It has become so persistent that she has unfortunately injured herself, causing damage to her tail and spine. This is why Jessie needs a foster home as soon as possible. She needs out of the shelter environment and into a calm, supportive home where she can decompress, feel safe and have the chance to heal and thrive. And once she feels safe, you see the sweet girl underneath. ❤️ Jessie may be shy at first, but with patience, kindness and a few treats, she becomes loving, affectionate, cuddly and very generous with her kisses. She also does well with other dogs, with a meet-and-greet required. 🐾 Jessie would do best with: • Experienced dog owners • A quiet suburban or rural home • Older children (14+) • Someone patient who will give her time to decompress You don’t have to adopt Jessie to change her life. You can foster her. A temporary home could give Jessie the break from shelter life she desperately needs and the safe environment where she can begin feeling like herself again. 10/6 - 🚨 BREAKING NEWS: Snickers has absolutely no idea how to act normal. 😂 Snickers #NCR8757 has grown up right before our eyes, from a 3-month-old puppy to an 8-month-old, 56-lb goofball. 😂 Exhibit A: the flop. Exhibit B: the BIIIIIG stretch. Exhibit C: the dramatic sit-and-stare directly into the camera like he has something very important to say. 👀 This cattle dog mix is EXTREMELY silly, incredibly smart, and has a personality that is impossible not to love. He’s also strong, energetic and a herding breed, so Snickers is looking for someone with previous dog experience who can give him the structure, consistency and patience he needs to keep growing into the very best version of himself. ❤️ He gets along with other pups, but a meet and greet is required to ensure a perfect match. Snickers is looking for a home with children 12+ who can respect his boundaries and keep up with his playful energy!
