Animal Service League Inc.
Our Mission
The Animal Service League (ASL) is dedicated to providing aid, sympathy, and love to homeless animals in our community. We strive to educate the public on animal welfare while ensuring every pet in our care receives the support they need to thrive.
Our History
Founded in 1953 by a visionary woman with a deep passion for helping animals in need, our organization has been officially incorporated under New York State law since 1957. Today, our 501(c)3 non-profit continues to build on that original vision through the dedicated work of our Board of Directors and volunteers.
Our Care Model
We pride ourselves on providing a compassionate environment for the animals in our care. Our rescues live in a unique cage-free, communal shelter or within our trusted foster network while they await their forever homes. By providing veterinary care, socialization, and plenty of love, we ensure each animal is prepared for a successful transition into their next chapter.
Building Lifelong Bonds
Adopting a pet is a meaningful, long-term commitment that we approach with great care. Because we spend significant time with our animals in our cage-free setting, we truly understand their unique personalities and needs. Our goal is to create the perfect, lifetime match for both you and your future companion.
