Smithtown Animal Shelter
A Dedicated Haven for Smithtown's Animals
The Smithtown Animal Shelter and Adoption Center is committed to providing a safe, compassionate, and supportive environment for lost, stray, and surrendered animals as they wait to reunite with their families or find a brand-new forever home. We believe every animal deserves a second chance at happiness.
Serving Our Community
Located at 410 East Main Street, our center serves as a vital point of entry for the residents of Smithtown. When a stray animal arrives, we provide care and security while working diligently to locate their owners, ensuring that local families have the best chance to be reunited with their beloved pets.
A Commitment to Compassionate Care
Our facility is designed with animal well-being at the forefront, featuring a dedicated exam room for medical care and multiple outdoor play areas where dogs can run, play, and receive much-needed TLC. In 2018, we expanded our space to include a large dog park with an agility course, giving our furry residents an expansive area to expend energy and engage in natural, fun behaviors.
Finding Your Perfect Match
We are dedicated to helping you find a companion that is a perfect match for your family and lifestyle. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff will guide you through the adoption process, offering an informal consultation to ensure you and your new friend are set up for success, supported by a $75 adoption fee that includes spaying or neutering, vaccinations, microchipping, and more.
Take the First Step
We invite you to visit our adoption floor, meet our current residents, and learn about our lifelong post-adoption counseling services. Whether you are looking to adopt or simply want to learn more, we are here to help you begin this rewarding journey into pet parenthood.
