The Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter is dedicated to finding loving, forever homes for our homeless pets. We strive to make life brighter for the animals in our care and better for the people in our community.

As an open-admission shelter, we are here for animals in need 24/7. Whether responding to reports of stray pets or providing essential veterinary care, our team works tirelessly to give every cat and dog a fresh start.
Our Care Model
We are home to a diverse group of animals, from playful pups to laid-back cats, all awaiting their new beginning. To support their journey, we utilize a foster network to provide a home environment for pets who need socialization or extra care. Every animal in our care receives medical check-ups, spaying or neutering, vaccinations, and a microchip before they are ready for adoption.
