Warwick Valley Humane Society
Our Mission
The Warwick Valley Humane Society is dedicated to improving the lives of animals in our community and beyond by keeping lost and homeless pets safe and happily sheltered until they are reunited or adopted. We advocate for compassion, respect, and humane treatment for all animals while promoting responsible care through education.
Our Story
Founded in 1954, we have proudly operated the Warwick Animal Shelter since 1968 as the second oldest humane society in Orange County. We are a not-for-profit organization that provides animal control services for the Towns of Warwick and Chester, ensuring every resident has access to professional animal welfare support. For over half a century, our commitment has remained rooted in our passion for animal C.A.R.E.—Compassion, Advocacy, Respect, and Excellence.
How We Care
Every animal in our care is treated with the kindness they deserve, guided by the belief that they have the right to be free from hunger, fear, pain, and discomfort. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to provide a safe, nurturing environment while our residents await their new beginnings. Through innovative and creative action, we strive for the highest level of care for every dog, cat, and small animal that comes through our doors.
Finding Your Perfect Match
We believe that animals live each day with hope, and we are committed to ensuring that every pet finds the right forever family. By utilizing a thoughtful adoption application process, we work carefully to create lasting, happy partnerships between our shelter residents and their new homes. We celebrate the joy of adoption and the incredible bond that forms when you give a deserving animal a second chance.
