Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue, Inc. (NCCR) is dedicated to rescuing and providing sanctuary for stray and abandoned dogs, working tirelessly to secure permanent, loving, and responsible homes for every animal in our care.
Founded in 1999, NCCR began as an all-volunteer rescue born from a commitment to help the neediest dogs in our area. Since purchasing our own building in 2002, we have continued to evolve as a vital community resource that promotes compassion through education and advocacy for spay and neuter initiatives.
As a 501(c)3 non-profit and no-kill shelter, we rely entirely on the generosity of donations and the dedication of our volunteers, as we receive no government funding. Our team provides comprehensive care, including vaccinations, spay/neuter services, and microchipping for the 250 to 350 dogs that enter our facility each year. We prioritize a supportive environment, often utilizing foster homes to help dogs adjust to a family setting before their next journey begins.
We believe that every adoption should be a successful, lifelong partnership. Our volunteers work diligently to match each dog with a family best suited to their individual temperament and the family's unique lifestyle. By taking the time to understand both the dog and the adopter, we ensure that every placement is set up for joy and long-term success.
Are you ready to open your heart and home? We invite you to view our featured pets ready for adoption or reach out to our team at adoptions@caninerescue.org to learn more about our current residents.
