At Nickel City Canine Rescue, the heart of our work is to rescue displaced and unwanted dogs at risk of euthanasia. We are committed to providing them with stable care, basic needs, and the kind of love that makes their tails wag again.
We are a Buffalo-based, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to saving dogs of all breeds and ages. Operating entirely on the support of volunteers and donors, we receive no government funding, which allows us to focus 100% of our resources on the rescue and rehabilitation of our dogs.
As a 100% foster-based rescue, we operate without a physical shelter facility. By welcoming dogs into a home environment, we provide them the socialization and comfort they need to transition successfully into their forever homes, while simultaneously creating space in overcrowded shelters to save even more lives.
We pride ourselves on a transparent and straightforward adoption process that prioritizes the best fit for both the dog and the family. Our team works tirelessly to match individual dogs—whether they are healthy puppies or medically needy seniors—with loving, safe, and compatible homes in Western New York.
Whether you are looking to bring a new member into your family, provide a temporary home as a foster, or support our work through donations, your involvement makes a tangible difference. We invite you to view our adoptable dogs or learn more about our volunteer opportunities to see how you can help us continue our life-saving work.
