Our Mission

Wagon Tails Farm Rescue is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of companion and farm animals. We believe that every tail deserves a happily ever after, and we work tirelessly to ensure each animal finds a safe and loving environment.

Who We Are

Founded in 2018 in Duplin County, NC, by a team with years of experience in rescue and veterinary care, we grew from a desire to address the critical need for animal assistance in our region. Our organization is a registered 501(c)3 dedicated to working alongside local shelters to help decrease their populations, ultimately aiming to reduce the need for euthanasia due to lack of space.

Our Foster-Based Approach

Wagon Tails Farm Rescue is not a shelter; we do not have a centralized facility. Instead, we operate through a vast, dedicated network of foster homes across North Carolina, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, South Carolina, and Maryland.

By caring for our animals in private homes, we provide a stable, loving environment that allows us to understand each pet's personality and specific needs. This model ensures that when you meet an animal, you are meeting a pet that has been nurtured and prepared for their transition to a forever family.

Finding Your Perfect Match

We pride ourselves on thoughtful, intentional matching between our pets and their new families. Our adoption counselors work closely with you through a simple application and interview process, including a required Meet & Greet to ensure all humans and resident pets are a great fit.
