Humane Society of Catawba County - HSCC

A Second Chance at Life

At the Humane Society of Catawba County, our mission is to give homeless companion animals a safe place to land and the care they deserve. We work every day to find loving homes for pets in need, ensuring every animal gets the second chance they deserve.

Our Commitment to Community

Founded in 1971 by local volunteers, we have grown into an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving Catawba County and the surrounding region. As the only brick-and-mortar nonprofit companion animal service organization in the county, we are dedicated to addressing pet overpopulation through low-cost spay/neuter initiatives, humane education, and compassionate, open-door service.

Care They Can Feel

We are a no-kill shelter, meaning every animal in our care stays with us for as long as it takes to find the perfect family. Our facility provides a clean, safe environment where pets receive medical attention, behavioral support, and plenty of love while they wait for their forever homes. Transparency is central to our work, and we welcome the community to see our commitment to honesty and accountability firsthand.

Find Your New Best Friend

Adoption is a joyful journey, and we believe in making successful, lifelong matches between pets and people. Our team takes the time to get to know each animal’s unique personality, ensuring that when you walk in, you are connected with a companion who fits your lifestyle perfectly.

Join Our Mission

You can help us continue our work by adopting, donating, or volunteering your time to support our furry friends. Whether you contribute needed items, provide a financial gift, or choose to foster, you are making a direct impact on the lives of local animals.
