Our Journey
Founded over 60 years ago as the Animal Protection Society of Orange County, our organization has evolved into a progressive leader in humane animal treatment. From our early days advocating for welfare to the establishment of our sanctuary in Mebane, we have remained committed to providing a safe haven and quality resources for our community.
How We Care
We operate a closed-admission Adoption Center at our sanctuary that rescues cats and dogs from local county shelters. Rather than surrendering pets directly to us, we focus on providing these animals with veterinary care, behavioral support, and enrichment until they are matched with their forever families. We never euthanize for space, ensuring every animal receives the dignity and respect they deserve.
