Colonial Capital Humane Society
Our Mission
At Colonial Capital Humane Society, we are dedicated to rescuing and relieving the suffering of abused, abandoned, and stray animals. We strive to provide them with a nurturing environment until they can find their forever homes while promoting the importance of humane animal treatment.
Our Story
Established in 1978, CCHS has proudly served as the only no-kill shelter in Craven County for over four decades. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization driven by our dedicated volunteers and supporters, we are committed to being a safe haven for animals in need within our community.
How We Care
Our organization utilizes a compassionate approach that combines shelter facilities with a robust foster network. Our dogs are placed in loving foster homes where they receive essential behavioral and medical attention, while our cattery offers both spacious community rooms for our feline residents and individualized foster care for kittens and those with special needs.
Your Role in Our Journey
We believe that every animal deserves a second chance at a happy life in a loving home. By prioritizing comprehensive care, we ensure our animals are ready for a smooth transition into their new families, fostering joyful, long-lasting partnerships between pets and adopters.
