Our Mission
SAFE Haven for Cats is dedicated to using no-kill principles and education to save lives through rescue, adoption, expert spay/neuter services, and community programs. We believe every cat deserves a loving home, a full tummy, and a warm place to sleep.
Our History
Our journey began in 1994, when founder Pam Miller started our mission from her own two-car garage. Over the last 31 years, we have grown into the Triangle's first permanent no-kill shelter for cats, having facilitated over 17,000 successful adoptions and provided over 60,000 life-saving sterilizations.
How We Help
We operate as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, relying entirely on the generosity of individual donors and dedicated volunteers rather than government funding. Our work encompasses a physical adoption center, a high-quality spay/neuter clinic, and a pet food pantry designed to support families facing temporary hardship. Every cat in our care is treated with respect and individual attention in a safe, non-judgmental environment.
