Forsyth County Animal Shelter
Finding Your Next Best Friend
At the Forsyth County Animal Shelter, our mission is to connect loving animals with their forever families. We are dedicated to providing a safe, temporary haven for pets while they wait to find their perfect match within our community.
Serving Our Community
Located in Winston-Salem, our facility serves as a vital resource for Forsyth County. We are here to support both animals and pet owners, offering a variety of services ranging from animal adoptions to pet help resources and lost and found assistance.
How We Operate
We believe in a transparent and structured adoption process that ensures the best outcome for both the animal and the adopter. Our team manages a facility where animals are cared for and prepared for their next chapter, with opportunities for community members to support us through volunteering, fostering, and donations.
The Adoption Partnership
Adopting a pet is a joyful commitment to a lifetime of companionship. We guide you through every step—from pre-selecting your animal on our website to completing your application—so you can feel confident and prepared when bringing your new family member home. We require a simple adoption contract, including an agreement to ensure your new pet is vaccinated for rabies as needed, to help set every adoption up for long-term success.
Join Us Today
We invite you to view our currently adoptable animals online or visit our shelter at 5570 Sturmer Park Circle. We are open Tuesday through Saturday, from 12 pm to 4 pm, and look forward to helping you find your new companion.
