The Summit County Animal Control Department is committed to being proactive, innovative, and compassionate in every aspect of our work. Our goal is to provide exceptional care for the animals we serve while fostering a safer, more desirable community for every citizen in Summit County.
Serving Our Community
Since opening our state-of-the-art, 19,494 square foot facility in 2010, we have dedicated ourselves to the responsible enforcement of canine laws and the welfare of the animals in our care. Our high-performance, green facility serves as a temporary shelter for lost and stray dogs, offering a safe harbor where they receive the medical attention and support they need while waiting to be reunited with their families or find a new home.
Our Care Model
We believe in providing the highest quality of care during an animal's stay. Upon arrival, every dog receives essential vaccinations, flea treatments, and intestinal de-worming. Our facility is equipped with a dedicated intake area, a veterinary clinic, and outdoor visiting spaces to ensure that every pet remains comfortable, healthy, and happy throughout their transition.
