Our Mission
Doberman Underground is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming Doberman Pinschers and mixes through a simple, unwavering mission: No Dog Left Behind. We believe every dog deserves a second chance at a life filled with love, dignity, and safety.
Our Story
Founded in 2013 by five passionate volunteers, our organization has grown into a community of over 150 strong. Our journey began with a pivotal rescue of 116 Dobermans, which cemented our belief in the power of collective action. Today, we continue to honor the motto Rescue first, breed second as we serve dogs in need across Ohio, Michigan, West Virginia, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Indiana.
A Different Way to Rescue
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that operates entirely as a foster-based rescue rather than using a centralized facility. By living in our network of private foster homes, every dog receives individualized attention, thorough veterinary care, and the socialization necessary to thrive. We specialize in helping dogs overcome medical, emotional, and behavioral challenges, ensuring they are ready to become cherished family members.

Finding the perfect forever home is a thoughtful, collaborative process centered on matching the right dog with the right family. Our adoption process includes vet checks, home visits, and a commitment to obedience training to build a strong foundation for your lifelong bond. Because we are deeply invested in the long-term success of every adoption, we guide you through each step to ensure a happy, permanent transition for both you and your new companion.

10/5 - 🐾❤️ A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO CAME OUT TO OHIO DOBERFEST! ❤️🐾 What a beautiful day spent with so many wonderful people and of course, SO many happy Dobermans and Nobermans! 🐾 It looked like the pups had an absolute blast meeting new fur-friends, getting love from humans, participating in contests and games, etc... and we were so happy to meet so many of you and share the day together!! 🌞 Thank you for coming out, supporting Doberman Underground, and making the day so special! ❤️ These are just a few pictures from the day.
