The League for Animal Welfare exists to save homeless cats and dogs from the lives they were dealt by providing the compassionate, no-kill care they truly deserve. We are dedicated to reducing the number of homeless animals in Greater Cincinnati through responsible, high-quality care.
Founded in 1949, we have spent more than 70 years serving as a trusted community resource for lost, unwanted, and neglected pets. As the oldest and one of the largest no-kill shelters in our area, we are proud to be a dedicated champion for animal welfare.
Operating from our shelter facility at 4193 Taylor Road in Batavia, our team provides comprehensive medical and behavioral support to over 1,500 animals every year. Beyond our sheltering services, we address the root causes of animal homelessness by offering an on-site public wellness clinic, spay/neuter vouchers, and a pet food pantry to help keep families together.
Choosing a new furry family member is an exciting, life-changing experience, and our trained adoption counselors are here to ensure you find the perfect match. We encourage you to spend meaningful time with our residents in our adoption rooms, allowing personalities to shine so you can find a companion who fits your home and lifestyle perfectly.
Whether you are ready to meet your new best friend or looking to lend a paw, there are many ways to make a difference. We invite you to explore our available adoptable pets, sign up to volunteer, or support our lifesaving programs through a donation. Together, we can continue to transform the lives of homeless animals in our community.
