The Wood County Humane Society exists to be a community leader providing services and resources that enrich the relationship between animals and humans through advocacy, education, and animal welfare. We are dedicated to creating a brighter tomorrow for our furry friends.
Founded in 1904, our organization has long been committed to the well-being of domesticated animals. Since 1988, our Minniebelle Conley Shelter has served as a cornerstone of our community, providing a safe haven for pets and resources for the people who love them.
We operate a managed admission facility in Bowling Green, caring for roughly 1,000 pets each year. Our devoted team of staff and volunteers provides medical care, including spaying and neutering, to ensure every animal is ready for their next chapter. Beyond daily shelter life, we support our community through pet food assistance programs and temporary safe haven services for those facing difficult life transitions.
Adopting a pet is a transformative experience that improves both your life and theirs. We strive to provide the best possible care for every animal in our shelter, ensuring they are healthy and ready to find a loving home. When you adopt from us, you aren't just gaining a companion; you are participating in a compassionate mission to give animals a second chance at happiness.
Whether you are looking to open your heart to a new friend or simply want to support our work, we invite you to get involved. Please visit our Meet Our Adoptable Pets page to find your new companion or explore our volunteer and donation opportunities. We look forward to working with you to create a better future for the animals of Wood County.
