Cincinnati Animal CARE

Cincinnati Animal CARE is Hamilton County's only animal shelter, dedicated to providing compassionate, community-centered care that saves lives and protects pets. We pride ourselves on being a progressive organization that not only prioritizes public safety by enforcing animal laws but also serves as a resource for education and support to the area's animals and their guardians. Since assuming responsibility for animal services in August 2020, Cincinnati Animal CARE has embraced a humane no-kill philosophy, aiming to save 90% or more of the animals that come through our doors. Our commitment to lifesaving is a reflection of our community values, implemented through a collaborative approach to animal sheltering. We provide individualized care and temporary shelter for thousands of animals annually while working tirelessly to reunite lost pets, reduce the stray population, and find forever homes for homeless animals. Our mission extends to offering resources and information to promote responsible and compassionate pet ownership within the Hamilton County community. As a no-kill animal shelter and the sole provider of stray dog services via the Hamilton County Dog Warden, Cincinnati Animal CARE operates with the belief that every animal deserves a safe place to thrive. Our range of services includes adoption programs, veterinary care, and a community-driven approach to animal advocacy. Our vision is to create a community where all animals are valued and protected. With a dedicated team of over 900 volunteers, we logged approximately 28,397 volunteer hours last year, showcasing our community's commitment to the welfare of animals. Our leadership is composed of skilled professionals with decades of experience in animal welfare, and together, we strive to uphold the highest standards of care and advocacy. Join us in our mission to make Hamilton County a better place for all animals. Whether you are looking to adopt, volunteer, or support our efforts through donations, your engagement helps us achieve our vision of a compassionate community for all pets.
