HEARTT Animal Refuge is a 100% volunteer, no-kill animal shelter and adoption center dedicated to Helping Each Animal Rescued Today and Tomorrow. We rescue abandoned and abused cats and dogs, providing them with a safe, nurturing environment and proper medical care until they are placed with permanent, loving families.
Our journey began with a commitment to giving homeless animals a safe haven, and we are proud to carry that vision forward today. Our Bridgetown Road location has a special history, having evolved from a project originally founded by Holly and Jane Petersen as Holly’s Paws. In 2025, HEARTT merged with that organization to continue providing vital care for cats and kittens in our community.
As a volunteer-run organization, we rely entirely on the generosity of our supporters because we do not receive local, state, or federal funding. We operate two locations—one in Sharonville and one in Bridgetown—where our dedicated team provides medical care and a comfortable space for animals to wait for their next chapter. Because our hours vary based on volunteer staffing, we prioritize transparency and care by coordinating all visits through appointments.
Adoption is a joyful partnership, and we are here to help you find the pet that is the perfect fit for your lifestyle. Whether you are looking for a loyal cuddle buddy or a playful companion, our shelter is filled with residents—including seniors and those with special needs—who are eager to share their affection. We believe that choosing adoption over shopping creates a life-changing second chance for both you and your new best friend.
We invite you to join our mission of kindness by meeting our furry residents or becoming a part of our volunteer team. Please visit our website to browse our adoptable animals, check out our upcoming events, or learn how your support helps us provide a better future for every animal in our care.
