Berea Animal Rescue Fund
Our Mission
Berea Animal Rescue Friends (ARF) is dedicated to providing compassionate, quality care for stray and homeless companion animals. We are a no-time-limit shelter, committed to supporting these animals for as long as it takes to help them find their perfect forever homes.
Our Story
Founded in 1987 as a grassroots organization in a family’s garage, our rescue has grown significantly to meet the needs of our community. Today, we operate out of a modern 5,300-square-foot facility in Columbia Township, continuing our long-standing tradition of serving as a safe haven for animals in need.
Our Approach to Care
We believe every animal deserves a second chance, which is why we do not impose time limits or medical spending caps. Our exceptional team of over 300 volunteers provides 365 days of care, socialization, and medical support, including spay/neuter services and vaccinations. Through our innovative programs like our Prison Foster Program and Under the Wing, we are able to extend our reach and ensure vulnerable animals receive the specialized attention they require.
Your Role in Their Journey
Adopting from ARF is a partnership in kindness, where you provide the loving environment these animals have been waiting for. Whether you are looking for a spirited dog or a feline friend, our team is dedicated to matching you with a companion that fits your life. By choosing adoption, you are not just gaining a new family member; you are actively participating in a lifesaving mission that places over 1,000 animals into loving homes each year.
