Euclid Animal Shelter

Our Mission

At Euclid Pet Pals, our mission is to provide dedicated care for animals in need while reuniting them with loving, forever families. We are committed to creating an environment that protects and respects every animal under our care.

A Community-Driven History

Our organization is built on a legacy of community spirit that traces back to the 1970s, when Euclid citizens first joined together to build an animal shelter. Formed in 2003, Euclid Pet Pals continues this tradition today as a 501(c)(3) non-profit, working tirelessly to support the animals housed at the D. Fay Miller Animal Shelter.

How We Care

We operate the city's shelter with the support of a dedicated team of volunteers who ensure our residents receive essential care. Every animal in our program is spayed or neutered, up-to-date on routine shots, and receives individualized attention to prepare them for their new life. We focus on transparency and community service, ensuring that 100% of the money we collect goes directly toward the welfare of our animals.

Finding Your Perfect Match

We believe that adopting a pet is a joyful partnership, and our team is here to help you find the companion that is just right for your lifestyle. During our meet-and-greet process, our volunteers ask thoughtful questions to ensure every placement is a lasting, successful fit for both you and your new best friend. We take the time to support you through the adjustment period, as we know that building a bond is a rewarding journey.

Start Your Adoption Journey

We also encourage you to stop by the shelter or contact us directly to learn more about our upcoming events and how you can make a difference in a local animal's life today.

5/25 - Every kennel at Euclid Animal Shelter full from Memorial Day weekend

“We are FULL,” the Euclid Animal Shelter shared on Memorial Day weekend. “In just the last few days, 6+ dogs have come in and every kennel is now occupied.”

10/13 - This is what the shelter looks like at 8:30 on a Monday morning. 🐾 Quiet. Calm. Peaceful. Everyone is happy to be fed, warm, safe, and under a roof. They have fresh water, clean blankets, and for a little while, everything feels right. You’re probably wondering who comes in this early just to feed 40–50 dogs they don’t know. They don’t know their backgrounds. They don’t know their stories. But they know their hearts. ❤️ Our volunteers do. They show up. They dedicate their time. They give up precious hours from their personal lives because these animals matter to them. They show up for the animals of the City of Euclid — especially the ones who have no one else to show up for them. And we hope you’ll take a moment to really see how wonderful each of these dogs is. Please don’t judge them by what you see when you first walk down the aisle. It can be crazy. It can be chaos. There may be barking, growling, spinning in kennels, blankets being tossed around, and dogs acting completely wild. But underneath all of that is a dog who is scared, excited, confused, hopeful, or simply desperate for attention. These are the moments we live for as volunteers. The quiet mornings. The wagging tails. The first little bit of trust. The moments when a dog realizes someone is here for them. This is why we show up. This is why we volunteer. This is why they matter. 🐾 #EuclidPetPals #EuclidOhio #EuclidAnimalShelter #ShelterDogs #AdoptDontShop #RescueDogs #Volunteer #RescueDogsNeedLoveToo #DogsOfEuclid #SupportAnimalShelters

10/1 - 🐾📚 Malcolm’s Fun Field Trip! 🐶❤️ Malcolm had the BEST field trip to Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School to visit the Animal Defenders League animaldefendersclub_ndcl 🐕🐾 He got to share his story and help the students learn about the stories of other shelter dogs and cats. 🐶🐱❤️ We also talked about what we do at Euclid Pet Pals and what our organization stands for — helping animals find love, safety, and the happy lives they deserve. 🏡💕 And of course, Malcolm made sure there was plenty of time for the important stuff… LOTS of love, pets, treats, and tail wagging! 🥰🦴🐾 Thank you to everyone who made Malcolm feel so welcome! We loved spending time with you and sharing the important work of helping our shelter pets. ❤️🐾 #EuclidPetPals #AnimalDefendersLeague #NotreDameCathedralLatin #ShelterPets #AdoptDontShop #RescueDogs #RescueCats #ShelterDogs #ShelterCats #AnimalRescue #PetLovers #DogsOfInstagram #CatsOfInstagram #CommunityOutreach #RescueStories #HappyTails 🐾❤️

9/29 - 🚨 WE ARE FULL. EVERY SINGLE CAGE. 🚨 There is not one open cage at our shelter. When another dog or cat needs help, we have to turn them away because we have nowhere to put them. That is heartbreaking. We are a small shelter, and we are stretched beyond what we can handle. Animals keep coming in, but not enough are going home. We need adoptions now. If you have been thinking about adopting, please don’t wait. Come meet the dogs and cats who are waiting for someone to choose them. An adoption gives one animal a home and opens space for another who has nowhere else to go. Please share this. Tell a friend. Come meet them. We cannot help the next animal until we make room for the ones already here. 🐾💔 📩 Questions? Email euclidpetpals2@yahoo.com.

9/26 - ✨ IT’S MARIAH’S TURN TO SHINE. ✨ Now that Norris is settling into his foster home, we want to shine the light on our next longest resident: Mariah. Mariah is only 4 years old. She has spent three of those years waiting with us. She was found tied to a pole and left behind like she didn’t matter. Three years later, she’s still waiting for someone to show her that she does. In all that time, she’s had just one potential meet and greet—and the person never showed up. 💔 But Mariah is so much more than the time she’s spent waiting. She attended enrichment at Up N Atom. She goes on adventures with one of our volunteers. She’s a volunteer favorite with a whole lot of personality, and she deserves a person who will love her like the icon she is. 👑🐾 Mariah is dog selective and would do best as the only pet in her home. She needs someone ready to get to know her and give her the love and attention she’s waited so long for. Norris’s story is changing. Let’s help change Mariah’s, too. Share this post, talk about her, and help us get her in front of the person who’s been missing her. ❤️ 📋 Interested in adopting Mariah? 9/26 - 🚨 HELLO, EUCLID PET PALS. IT’S ME AGAIN. 🚨 Norris. Your favorite unauthorized page administrator. 😎🐾 The humans thought changing the password would stop me. Cute. I’m in my new foster home now, and I have something they were probably going to make me wait to show you: I MADE FRIENDS! 🐶❤️ That’s right. Friends. In my house. Watch the video. I look like I’ve been hosting doggy hangouts my whole life. 🏡 Anyway, I have to go. One of the humans just said, “Why is Norris posting on our page?” 👀 If they ask, you didn’t see me. If you share this video, they can’t possibly delete all the evidence. Love, Norris 🐾

9/22 - 🐾 Mariah Deserves Her Own Family 🐾 Mariah regularly goes on adventures with one of our wonderful volunteers, and every trip reminds us just how special she is. ❤️ She loves getting out of the shelter, exploring new places, and enjoying time with someone she trusts. But after every adventure, Mariah still has to return to her kennel. She has been with us for almost three years and continues to receive little to no interest. Three years is far too long for such a wonderful dog to wait for a family of her own. Mariah would do best as the only pet in the home—but she has more than enough love and personality to fill your entire heart. She deserves more than occasional adventures. She deserves a lifetime of them with a family who loves her. Please share and help us find Mariah’s person. 🏡❤️ 📋 Interested in adopting? 9/22 - 💔 Poor Grand… she’s spending her senior years in a shelter—something we never wanted for her. We’ve shared her story repeatedly, but somehow, this sweet girl continues to be overlooked. At approximately 11 years old, Grand isn’t asking for much. She just wants a comfortable couch, a peaceful home, and someone who will love her for the rest of her days. Grand deserves to know what it feels like to fall asleep in a warm home instead of a kennel. She deserves soft blankets, gentle affection, and a family of her own. She would need to be the only pet in the home—but we promise, she has more than enough love to fill it. ❤️ Please don’t let Grand spend the rest of her life in a shelter. Even if you can’t adopt her, sharing this post could help her reach the person she has been waiting for. 📋 Interested in adopting?
