The Brown County Humane Society is dedicated to providing compassionate care for animals in need while promoting responsible pet ownership throughout our community. Since 1976, we have worked tirelessly to ensure every animal receives the respect and security they deserve.
We are incredibly proud to have achieved no-kill status in 2010. Thanks to the ongoing dedication of our staff, volunteers, and our supportive community, we do not euthanize animals due to a lack of space, ensuring that every pet has the time they need to find their perfect family.
Operating from both our dedicated dog shelter and our Small Animal Adoption Center, we provide a safe haven for animals while they await their forever homes. Beyond our shelter walls, we actively support local pet owners through our Pet Food Pantry and our SNAP program, which assists income-qualified residents with spay and neuter services. From the moment an animal enters our care, we strive to improve their quality of life through enrichment, medical attention, and a loving, temporary environment.
Adoption is a joyful journey that turns a shelter animal into a beloved family member. Whether you are looking for a loyal canine companion or a feline friend, our team is here to help you make a connection that lasts a lifetime. By choosing adoption, you aren't just gaining a pet; you are becoming a vital part of our mission to give these animals the bright future they deserve.
We invite you to visit our facilities in Georgetown to meet our current residents, or explore our website to see how you can help. Whether you choose to adopt, volunteer, foster, or donate, your support ensures that we can continue our life-saving work for the animals of Brown County.
