The Fairfield County Dog Adoption Center & Shelter is dedicated to protecting, sheltering, and serving our community by providing a safe haven for dogs in need. We are committed to fostering meaningful partnerships that ensure the lasting well-being of every animal in our care.
Established in 1939, our organization has spent over eight decades evolving to better serve the dogs of Fairfield County. Following a 2000 relocation to our current facility in Lancaster, we have continuously improved our operations under the guidance of our dedicated wardens and staff, prioritizing community outreach, comprehensive training, and humane care.
We are more than just a shelter; we are a hub of compassionate care. Our dogs receive thorough medical support, including spay/neuter services, vaccinations, microchipping, and routine preventive care for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. While many of our residents stay in our facility, we also utilize a foster network to provide a nurturing environment for dogs who may find shelter life a bit too stressful.
We believe that finding your perfect companion is a journey worth taking. By carefully considering your lifestyle, activity level, and living situation, we help facilitate matches that lead to joyful, permanent furever homes. We encourage you to reflect on your schedule and home environment so that you and your new family member can thrive together from day one.
Are you ready to unleash love? We invite you to explore our current list of adoptable dogs by visiting our website at www.fairfieldcountydogs.com. We also welcome you to stop by our facility at 1715 Granville Pike in Lancaster during business hours to meet your new best friend in person.
