The Marion Area Humane Society serves as a dedicated resource for Marion County, committed to providing a safe, secure environment for displaced animals and educating our community on the humane treatment of pets.
As a 501(c)3 non-profit agency, we rely entirely on the generosity of our supporters because we do not receive any government funding. Our work focuses on helping those in our local area who need to surrender pets and, when funding permits, assisting with spay and neuter costs to reduce pet overpopulation.
We are a small, rural shelter that takes pride in the care we provide to our residents. Every animal that comes through our doors receives essential medical attention, including vaccinations, testing, deworming, and preventative care for fleas, ticks, and heartworms.
Adoption is a wonderful journey that brings excitement and companionship into your life. We believe in thoughtful matching, which is why we require family meet-and-greets to ensure every pet finds their perfect, lifelong home. Our team works hard to get every animal ready for their next chapter once they are fully vetted and settled on our adoption floor.
We invite you to experience the joy of adoption by viewing our currently available pets online or visiting our shelter at 2264 Richland Rd in Marion. You can also support our efforts by donating, volunteering, or sponsoring a kennel to help us continue our promise to local homeless pets. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend.
