Toledo Humane Society - Main Branch
Our Mission
The Toledo Humane Society leads the community in efforts focused on relieving the suffering of, preventing cruelty to, and providing for the humane treatment of animals. We are committed to creating an educated, caring, and responsible community where the bond between people and their pets is celebrated and protected.
Serving Our Community Since 1884
As the state’s oldest animal welfare organization, we have proudly served the Toledo area for over 140 years. We operate as an independent 501(c)3 non-profit that does not receive government or national humane society funding, meaning our life-saving work is made possible entirely by the support of our compassionate community.
How We Care
We provide a nurturing, safe, and professional environment for nearly 5,000 animals each year. Our dedicated team uses a blend of specialized shelter care and a robust network of foster families to ensure every animal receives the individualized attention, medical care, and enrichment they need while waiting for their forever homes.
Your Perfect Match
Every adoption at the Toledo Humane Society is a unique and special journey. Our adoption counselors work closely with you to understand your lifestyle and goals, ensuring we match each animal with an appropriate home where they can truly thrive. We believe that by pairing the right pet with the right family, we create lasting, joyful partnerships that transform lives.
