At the Knox County Humane Society, our mission is to provide every cat that comes through our doors with the essential care they need and the unconditional love they deserve. We are dedicated to ensuring that every feline in our care is prepared for a healthy, happy future in their new forever home.
Founded in 1887, we are proud to be one of the oldest humane societies in Ohio. For over a century, we have remained committed to serving the needs of animals in our community, evolving our services to ensure we continue to make a meaningful difference for every cat we meet.
We operate out of our facility at 400 Columbus Road in Mount Vernon, where our team focuses on providing comprehensive medical attention. Every cat in our care is vaccinated, spayed or neutered, and treated for fleas and worms, ensuring they are healthy and ready to join your family. We also offer low-cost public clinics for spay and neuter services and vaccinations to support the broader health of the pet population in our area.
Adoption is a joyful partnership, and we are here to help you find the perfect feline companion for your lifestyle. Our team works hard to ensure that each cat is microchipped and ready for a smooth transition into your home. We believe that when you adopt from us, you are not just getting a pet; you are becoming part of a long-standing tradition of animal advocacy.
Are you ready to meet your new best friend? We invite you to view our adoptable cats online or visit us during our open hours to see the wonderful animals currently waiting for their forever families. Whether you choose to adopt, volunteer your time to socialize our cats, or become a member, there are many ways you can partner with us to help animals in need.
