Rescue Village is dedicated to providing humane services for animals and compassion for their people. We envision a humane world where all animals are safely and humanely cared for.
Who We Are
As a non-profit organization located in Novelty, Ohio, we serve as a vital resource for Geauga County and surrounding communities. For years, we have provided a safe haven for homeless, abused, and neglected animals, ensuring they receive the expert veterinary care and daily enrichment they deserve.

At Rescue Village, we believe in providing humane solutions through a shelter-based model that prioritizes the welfare of every animal in our care. Our dedicated staff and 421 volunteers work tirelessly to maintain a supportive environment, managing everything from medical surgeries to specialized behavioral health services and foster care placement.

9/24 - The rain came. So did the Woofstock Warriors. 4,500 people. 2,000 dogs. One very wet Woofstock. You showed up. You ran the lure courses. You played the games. You filled the tents. You ate, laughed, danced, shopped, raised money for the animals of Rescue Village — and refused to let a little rain decide the day. Years from now, plenty of people will say they were there. But we know who was. To every person, dog, volunteer, vendor, sponsor and supporter who made Woofstock 2026 happen: You are the Woofstock Warriors. And we have the video to prove it. 🐾☔❤️

9/21 - The rain didn’t stop thousands of people and pups from coming out yesterday! AMAZING job @rescuevillage staff and volunteers! Thank you! Expectations exceeded. Thank you to everyone who came out even with the rain. Major testament to how great @rescuevillage does at providing such a fun and entertaining event. I met multiple people from out of state who come into town just for this every year. Cool story! ➡️ the first dog you see with me is Finn, (formerly Skedaddle) adopted 3 years ago from @citydogscle. I photographed him at my studio to help get him adopted. When the photos were posted online, his humans saw the them and immediately went to the shelter to meet Finn. Finn secured his forever humans that day. When I volunteer to take photos of adoptable dogs, I often never hear if those photos lead to their adopter finding them. Yesterday, they came up to me and told me that’s how they found out about Finn. And that means the world to me. Day made.
