The Lucas County Pit Crew is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to supporting responsible guardians of companion animals in our community. We define ourselves as a FOR PURPOSE organization because we are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of animals and the people who love them each and every day.
We work to save dogs and cats through education, advocacy, training assistance, and the promotion of spay/neuter services. While we place a special emphasis on Pit Bull Terrier type dogs and community cats, our goal is to improve the welfare of all animals in our care. Through these efforts, we provide second chances and help animals find the loving homes they deserve.
We are proud to be an all-volunteer organization that operates through a dedicated foster network rather than a traditional facility. Because our animals live in foster homes, they receive personalized care and begin socialization in a real-world environment before finding their forever families. This model allows us to better understand each animal's needs and ensures they receive the love and attention they require while waiting for adoption.
Adding a companion to your family is a meaningful decision, and we are here to ensure a successful, lifelong partnership. We prioritize thoughtful matching and provide support through training resources to help you and your new pet thrive together. We invite you to explore our adoptable companions and learn how you can become part of our mission.
Whether you are looking to adopt, volunteer, or support our work through donations, there are many ways to get involved. Please check our website for information on our upcoming adoption events or to submit an adoption application. Together, we can create a brighter future for the animals in our community.
