The Wyandot County Humane Society is an animal protection organization dedicated to preventing and relieving animal suffering and cruelty. We foster an environment of respect, responsibility, and compassion for all beings through dedicated education and public advocacy.
Born in 1985 from the efforts of two passionate founders, WCHS began with a vision to provide a safe haven for animals in need. Over the past 40 years, our organization has grown from a humble garage operation into a comprehensive multi-location facility, including a small animal shelter, an equine rescue, and our state-of-the-art HOPE low-cost spay/neuter clinic.
We believe every animal deserves professional care and comfort. Our facility houses up to 200 animals, where they receive nourishing food, daily medical monitoring by trained staff, and plenty of enrichment. Every adopted animal is spayed or neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated before joining their new family, ensuring they are healthy and ready for their next chapter.
Adoption is a joyful partnership, and our counselors are here to help you find an animal that fits your home and lifestyle. We utilize a thoughtful, two-step process that includes an in-person visit to meet your potential companion and ensure a harmonious match. Because we care deeply about our animals' long-term success, our team provides guidance throughout the adoption journey, prioritizing the safety and well-being of both the pet and the adopter.
We invite you to experience the difference our community makes by scheduling an appointment to meet our wonderful adoptable animals. Whether you are looking to welcome a new pet into your home or want to support our mission through donations or volunteering, there are many ways to make a positive impact. Visit our adoption page or call us today to take the first step in finding your new best friend.
