The Healthy Hearts and Paws Project

Our Mission

At The Healthy Hearts and Paws Project, we believe in the power of love and compassion to transform lives. Our mission is to promote animal welfare through education and by providing care and temporary placement for animals in need to ensure each one receives a well-deserved second chance.

Our Story

Founded on April 25, 2019, by Jason Cooke, our organization grew from a compassionate commitment to save the lives of heartworm-positive and medical-needs dogs. What began in a den with five crates has evolved into a dedicated 501(c)(3) organization in Warren, OH, committed to being a voice for those who can only bark.

How We Care

Our work is rooted in a 100% volunteer-based model that focuses on rescue, rehabilitation, and finding loving homes. We provide essential medical care, including treatment for heartworm-positive dogs, and maintain a shelter environment that serves as a safe haven for abused and abandoned animals while they await their forever families.

Your Role in Their Journey

Adopting a pet is a beautiful way to enrich your life with unconditional love while changing the life of an animal in need. We are deeply committed to thoughtful, responsible adoption, and our team is here to guide you through the process of finding your perfect companion, ensuring a lifetime of health and happiness for your new family member.

Join Us

Whether you are looking to adopt, foster, or simply support our mission, you are helping us create a world where every animal is cherished. We invite you to visit us at our Warren shelter, browse our current adoptable pets, or follow our journey on social media to see how your support makes miracles happen, one paw at a time.
