The Clinton County Humane Society is a dedicated team of volunteers working in Wilmington, Ohio, to ensure every four-legged friend finds a loving forever home. We have been making new best friends since 2003, having successfully helped over 9,900 animals find their match.
We began our work with a deep, unconditional love for animals and a drive to offer a second chance to those in need. Named after a resilient mama dog named Abigail, our organization has grown into a beacon of hope, working tirelessly to address the challenge of unwanted litters and displaced pets in our community.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we operate solely on the kindness of donors and the hard work of our volunteers—we receive zero government or county funding. Our facility at 1760 Fife Ave serves as a hub where our team provides essential care, vaccinations, and spay/neuter services for our rescues. We rely on community support to keep our doors open and our animals healthy while they wait for their new families.
We believe that adopting is one of the best things you can do, and we take pride in our thoughtful matching process. By getting to know our potential adopters and their living situations, we help ensure each animal is placed in a home that perfectly meets their needs. This commitment to success creates lasting, happy bonds for both the pet and the adopter.
Whether you are looking for a loyal dog or a sweet cat, we have many wonderful animals waiting to meet you. Please visit our available pets page to begin your adoption application or follow us on social media for the latest updates. We look forward to helping you find your new family member!
