Our Mission
At the Wayne County Dog Shelter, we provide safe, compassionate care for dogs in need while working to unite them with their forever families. We are dedicated to promoting humane, responsible communities where every dog is valued and given the opportunity for a positive future.
Who We Are
Since opening our doors in 2015, we have served as the primary destination for stray dogs throughout Wayne County, Ohio. As a county-operated facility, we work tirelessly to act as a trusted resource for both our canine residents and the neighbors who care for them.
Our Commitment to Care
We believe that how we care matters, which is why we provide a clean, enriched environment for every dog in our facility. Our dogs benefit from daily socialization, indoor/outdoor kennels with comfortable bedding, and access to five spacious play yards for exercise and fun. With the support of our dedicated staff and the PAWS for WCDS non-profit, we ensure our residents receive comprehensive medical care and behavioral enrichment while they wait for their new homes.
