City of Edmond Animal Welfare

Our Mission

The Edmond Animal Services Unit is dedicated to the humane treatment and care of animals within our community. We strive to reunite lost pets with their families and find loving, permanent homes for all the animals in our care.

Serving Our Community

As a key component of the Edmond Police Department’s Special Services Division, we serve as a vital resource for both domestic and wild animal concerns. Our team is committed to the enforcement of municipal and state laws while maintaining a safe, professional environment for every animal that comes through our doors.

Our Approach to Care

We provide a high standard of care for our shelter residents, supported by programs like Playgroups and Rescue Readers to help keep our animals enriched and socialized. Our facility is also proud to host low-cost spay and neuter clinics in partnership with the Oklahoma Humane Society, ensuring we provide essential services for the health and well-being of local pets.

Your Adoption Journey

Choosing to welcome a new pet into your family is a rewarding decision that begins with a thoughtful match. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff is here to help you find a companion that fits your specific needs and lifestyle, ensuring a lasting partnership built on trust and care.

Every adoptable dog and cat in our care is spayed or neutered and has received all age-appropriate vaccinations prior to placement. We believe that adding a loyal friend to your life is a wonderful responsibility, and we are honored to help you take that step.
