Animal Aid of Tulsa, Inc.
Our Mission
Animal Aid of Tulsa is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to saving sick, injured, and abused stray dogs and cats in Tulsa and its surrounding communities. We work tirelessly to help vulnerable pets find loving homes while encouraging respect and awareness for the rights of all companion animals.
Our History
Founded in 1961 by Helen Dawson, our organization has spent over six decades providing essential welfare services to the pets who need us most. Since our beginning, we have remained the only organization in Tulsa prepared to accept sick or injured stray animals regardless of the time of day, ensuring help is available when it matters most.
Our Care Model
We believe every animal deserves a comfortable environment while waiting for their forever family. Rather than keeping pets in a traditional kennel, our dedicated volunteers open their homes to provide temporary care. This foster-based approach ensures that our rescues receive individual attention, socialization, and the comfort of a home setting while they heal.
Finding Your Perfect Match
We take great care to ensure that every adoption results in a lasting, loving partnership. Because we prioritize the well-being of our animals, our process includes personal and veterinary references to find the best possible match for both you and your new companion. We even offer a two-week trial period once an application is approved to ensure the transition is a success for everyone involved.
Get Involved
Whether you are looking to welcome a new family member or support our mission, we invite you to join our community. You can browse our current adoptable pets online, learn more about our foster program, or visit our thrift store to help fund our ongoing rescue efforts. We are so grateful for your partnership in giving these deserving animals a second chance.
