Chatham Kent Animal Rescue is a registered non-profit organization dedicated to providing safe, loving second chances for animals in need. We focus on finding permanent homes for dogs and cats through our compassionate foster and adoption program.
Founded in 2010 by Nancy Ball after a personal mission to save a senior dog, our rescue has grown into a dedicated team of volunteers serving southern Ontario. We step in for animals from high-kill shelters, hoarding situations, and owner surrenders, ensuring that even the most vulnerable pets receive the care and affection they deserve.
We are not a shelter; instead, we operate as a 100% volunteer-based network where our animals live as family members in our foster homes. This environment allows us to provide individualized care, socialization, and medical support while helping each animal transition into their forever home. Through our specialized Purple Leash Program, we also offer temporary stability for pets whose owners are facing hospitalization or domestic crises.
We believe in creating a perfect match, and our thorough process is designed to ensure a lifelong love connection between you and your new best friend. By working closely with our foster families, we get to know each pet’s personality, habits, and specific needs, making the transition as smooth as possible for everyone involved. We are proud to support every animal on their journey, providing full veterinary care, vaccinations, and spay/neuter services before they head home.
Are you ready to meet your new companion? We invite you to view our available pets online or reach out to our team to learn more about how you can open your heart to a rescue animal. Whether you choose to adopt, foster, or donate, your support directly helps us continue our work of saving lives every single day.
