At the Guelph Humane Society, our mission is to promote the welfare of all animals and prevent cruelty and suffering. We envision a sustainable population of healthy animals supported by a community that cares.
Founded in 1893, we have spent over 130 years serving the animals of our community. As a registered charitable non-profit organization that does not receive government funding, we rely on the generous support of our community to provide care for more than 3,000 homeless, stray, injured, and abused animals each year.
We provide comprehensive care through animal sheltering, surrender, and adoption services, along with pet identification and lost pet returns. Our team also offers assistance for sick, orphaned, and injured wildlife, ensuring that animals in our care receive the medical attention and support they need to thrive. Whether they are in our cozy shelter kennels or awaiting a new family, every animal is treated with compassion and respect.
Adopting a pet is a meaningful decision, and we are dedicated to supporting you through every step of the process. Our friendly and knowledgeable Adoption Counselors are here to help you find your paw-fect match, providing guidance on each animal's unique personality and care needs to ensure a smooth transition into your home. We believe in creating lasting, joyful partnerships that give deserving animals a second chance at happiness.
