The Kingston Humane Society is dedicated to advocating for and improving the lives of animals within our community. We promote a compassionate environment where the well-being of every animal is valued and respected.
Since our founding in 1884, we have provided shelter and care for homeless animals while investigating cases of animal cruelty in Kingston and the surrounding regions. As a non-profit organization supported solely by public and corporate donations, we are proud to serve as the only open shelter in our area, accepting stray animals from ten local municipalities.
Our commitment to animal welfare is driven by professionalism and compassion. We operate a secure, caring facility and leverage an incredible network of foster families who provide temporary, nurturing homes for newborns, recuperating animals, and those needing extra socialization. Every animal in our care receives essential medical attention, including vaccinations, microchipping, and spaying or neutering, to ensure they are ready for their next chapter.
We believe that adoption is a joyful partnership, and our customer care team is here to guide you toward a companion who truly suits your lifestyle. By focusing on thoughtful matching, we aim to build lasting, loving bonds between our animals and their new families. We take the time to get to know each pet’s temperament and needs so that every placement is a success for everyone involved.
Whether you are looking to open your heart to a new pet or want to contribute your time, there are many ways to get involved. We invite you to view our available pets online, learn more about our volunteer and foster programs, or visit us at the shelter to meet your future best friend today.
