City of Toronto Animal Services North Region
A Compassionate Community for Every Pet
Toronto Animal Services is dedicated to finding responsible, loving homes for thousands of animals each year. We strive to create lasting, positive outcomes for pets and the people who welcome them into their families.
Our Commitment to Animal Care
As a city-run organization, our mission goes beyond finding homes; we ensure that homeless animals receive the medical care they need to thrive. From spay and neuter services to vaccinations and microchipping, we address the root causes of overpopulation while providing a safe harbor for stray, surrendered, and injured animals.
How We Operate
Our shelters serve as the heart of our operations, providing quality care for those waiting for their forever homes. By maintaining dedicated facilities—including our North Shelter—we coordinate everything from pet redemptions to successful adoption placements. We are proud to work alongside rescue partners and a network of caretakers to maximize the comfort and well-being of every animal in our care.
Finding Your Perfect Match
We believe that a successful adoption begins with a thoughtful connection. By considering your lifestyle, activity level, and the specific needs of different species and breeds, we help you find a companion who will thrive in your environment. We are here to support you through this rewarding journey, ensuring that every pet finds the lifetime commitment they truly deserve.
