The Simcoe and District Humane Society provides care, shelter, and second chances for animals across Norfolk County, working every day to improve lives through compassion and dedicated service.
For over 70 years, we have been committed to supporting responsible pet ownership throughout our region. Our mission is to help both animals and people in Norfolk County, while promoting education on the compassionate care and wellbeing of all animals.
We are a non-profit, charitable organization that relies on the hard work of our dedicated volunteers to manage daily operations, from intake to adoption. Our care model leverages a blend of foster homes and a temporary shelter environment to ensure each animal receives the attention they deserve. We are currently working toward raising funds for a much-needed building to better serve our community’s needs.
Our vision is a community where all animals are treated with kindness and where overpopulation is addressed through humane intervention. By choosing to adopt, you become a vital partner in this vision, helping us ensure that every animal has a safe, loving place to call home. Every successful adoption represents a new beginning and a joyful chapter for both the pet and the family.
We invite you to browse our current list of adoptable animals or learn more about our volunteer and foster opportunities. Since we operate entirely through the generosity of our supporters, your involvement—whether through adoption, volunteering, or donations—makes a direct impact. Please reach out to us by email to arrange a meeting or to learn how you can help us continue our mission.
