Street Dog Hero
Our Mission
Street Dog Hero is dedicated to serving dogs in need around the world and within our own communities through rescue, adoption, wellness, spay/neuter services, and education. We envision a world where all dogs are healthy, safe, cared for, and wanted.
Why We Do It
We believe every dog deserves a loving forever home, regardless of where their journey begins. By focusing on both local rescue and international clinics, we aim to address the root causes of overpopulation and provide second chances to dogs coming from even the most difficult circumstances.
Our Foster-Based Model
Street Dog Hero operates as a foster-home-based organization, meaning our rescue dogs live in safe, loving homes throughout Central Oregon and the greater Portland area rather than in a traditional kennel. This environment allows our dogs to thrive while receiving personalized care, training, and socialization until they are ready for their forever families.
A Meaningful Match
We are deeply committed to making great matches that set our dogs—and our adopters—up for long-term success. Our dedicated team works closely with each family to ensure that every adoption is a joyful, lifelong partnership built on transparency and support.
Become a Hero
Are you ready to meet your new best friend? We invite you to explore our list of wonderful, adoptable dogs waiting to join your family. If you aren't ready to adopt, consider becoming a foster or making a donation to support our mission of saving lives, one dog at a time.
