Salem Friends of Felines

Our Mission

Friends of Felines is dedicated to providing vital services to felines and their human companions throughout the Willamette Valley. We are a large group of dedicated, caring, and hardworking individuals committed to the welfare of cats and people in our community.

Our Story

Founded in 2004 by a small group of animal-loving volunteers, we began with a simple goal: to reduce feline overpopulation and create a better future for cats in the Salem area. What started with just a few foster homes has grown into a regional leader in feline welfare, now operating from our 5,000 square foot facility in Keizer, Oregon.

How We Help

As a limited-admission rescue and adoption organization, we provide a safe, welcoming environment for the cats in our care. Our facility features a dedicated adoption center, a fully equipped surgery suite, and a Feline Wellness Clinic to ensure our residents receive top-notch medical attention. We also rely on a robust network of volunteer foster families who provide essential, temporary in-home care for kittens and cats before they are ready for their forever homes.

Connecting You with a New Friend

We believe that finding your next family member should be a rewarding experience, so our adoption process is thoughtfully designed to create the perfect match for both you and your future companion. Our professional team is committed to the well-being of every animal, ensuring that each cat is matched with a home that fits their unique personality and needs.

Get Involved

We invite you to be part of our mission by exploring our current list of adoptable cats or by learning more about our volunteer and fostering opportunities. Whether you are ready to open your home to a new pet or want to support our clinic services, we look forward to meeting you at our Keizer center.

9/25 - The party that helps keep Salem’s cats off the street is back, and this year it’s going full ‘80s. Friends of Felines’ Paws & Purrsonality Dinner and Auction When: Saturday, Oct. 3, 5 p.m. Where: Salem Convention Center, 200 Commercial St. SE Theme: The ‘80s. Neon, big hair and shoulder pads all welcome. Tickets: @friendsoffelinesoregon at sfof.org/paws-purrsonality Expect dinner, an auction and a room of 200-plus fellow animal lovers. Last year’s gala raised more than $90,000, according to the Keizertimes. The money goes to medical care for rescued cats and to help with surgery costs for families who can’t afford it. It also pays for a fund that helps owners cover vet bills so they don’t have to give up their pets. Here’s the work behind it. By their count, Friends of Felines has done about 4,300 spay and neuter surgeries so far this year and placed almost 500 cats in new homes. Last year, they gave out $70,000 to help people get their cats fixed. Friends of Felines is a Keizer nonprofit that has rescued and rehomed cats since 2004. Their adoption center is at 4157 Cherry Ave. NE. Tag the friend who’s matching your neon.
