Friends of the Animals (FOTAS)
Our Mission
Friends of the Animals is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for animals in Southern Oregon. We strive to achieve this by facilitating adoptions, providing necessary medical care, and offering vital education and resources to our community.
Our History and Purpose
Since our founding in 1991, we have been committed to supporting the Jackson County Animal Shelter, helping pets find their forever homes faster. While we continue our vital shelter support, our mission has evolved to include proactive solutions like expanding spay and neuter access and providing resources that keep pets and their families together in the Rogue Valley.
How We Care for Animals
Our work is powered by a community of dedicated volunteers and foster families who provide nurturing environments for animals. In 2022 alone, hundreds of cats and dogs thrived in FOTAS foster homes, allowing them to recover from injuries, gain confidence, and grow before meeting their new families. By utilizing foster-based care alongside our community clinics, we ensure every animal receives the attention and medical support they deserve.
The Joy of Adoption
Adopting a pet is a partnership that changes lives, and we are here to help you find your perfect companion. Whether you are looking for a playful dog or a purrfect feline friend, our team is dedicated to making the transition into your home a joyful, informed experience. We provide resources and guidance so you can feel confident and prepared for your new family member.
