The Lehigh Valley Humane Society is dedicated to saving animals from neglect, abandonment, and abuse through rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption. We are committed to serving our community of pet owners, regardless of their socioeconomic status, by providing innovative and accessible pet care resources.
Founded in 1906, we have spent over a century providing a haven for homeless animals while working tirelessly to prevent cruelty to both animals and children. In July 2022, we embraced our identity as the Lehigh Valley Humane Society, reflecting our expansion to serve families and pets throughout the Lehigh Valley and beyond.
As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, we operate as a 24/7 organization that rescues, rehabilitates, and finds loving forever homes for over 3,000 animals each year. Our facility provides high-quality veterinary care, behavioral enrichment, and specialized foster placement for the pets in our care. Through our Community Vet Clinic and dedicated Humane Society Police Officers, we provide both medical support for owned pets and critical intervention for animals suffering from cruelty or neglect.
We believe that a lack of financial agency does not equal a lack of love, and we strive to break down all financial barriers for those seeking to become forever companions. Our full-time Adoption Specialist works hard to ensure that every animal is matched with a loving home that is just right for them. When you adopt from us, you are joining a supportive community that prioritizes the dignity and well-being of every cherished soul.
Are you ready to find your next best friend? We invite you to explore our available animals online or visit our shelter in Allentown during our business hours to meet your perfect match in person. Together, we can build a future of health, happiness, and prosperity for every pet in our valley.
