The Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter is dedicated to protecting, sheltering, and adopting out homeless animals while ensuring the safe return of lost pets to their owners. We strive to foster a community of responsible pet ownership through humane education and compassionate care.
Our journey began with grassroots efforts in the 1970s, and we officially established ourselves as an independent, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 1994. Today, we serve as a vital community-supported resource, relying on the generosity of animal lovers to care for more than 2,000 animals that come through our doors each year.
Operating from our facility in Greene Township, our experienced staff and dedicated volunteers provide comprehensive support for our four-legged residents. We are committed to high standards of care, which includes facilitating nearly 900 adoptions annually and performing over 1,000 spay/neuter surgeries to promote population control. Through the support of our community, we are able to maintain a safe, welcoming environment for every animal while they await their forever families.
Adoption is a joyful commitment, and we are here to help you find the perfect companion to match your lifestyle. We believe in thoughtful, transparent matchmaking, ensuring that both you and your new pet are set up for a successful, loving life together. Our team works hard to provide necessary medical care, vaccinations, and microchipping so your new best friend is ready to head home.
Whether you are ready to open your home to a new pet, interested in volunteering your time, or looking to support our life-saving efforts through a donation, you are a vital part of our mission.
