Canine Rescue of Central PA Inc.
Our Mission
Canine Rescue of Central PA, Inc. is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing assistance to dogs in helpless situations. Our mission is to get involved in as many situations as possible to provide shelter and new homes to as many dogs as we can.
Our History and Purpose
Formed in 2002, our organization has made tremendous progress in establishing a valuable resource for our furry friends. We focus on creating strategic partnerships with other rescues to share resources and expand public awareness regarding the challenges faced by homeless animals in our community.
How We Care for Our Dogs
As a no-kill organization, we ensure every animal receives comprehensive care, including vaccinations, spaying or neutering, and heartworm/Lyme disease testing prior to adoption. Our dogs benefit from the dedicated work of volunteers who handle socialization, walking, and training. Whether staying in our facility or in a foster home, our primary goal is to provide a safe, supportive environment where dogs can relax and show us their true personalities.
Finding Your Perfect Match
We believe that adoption is a joyful partnership, and our process is designed to ensure the best possible placement for both the animal and the family. We require an application, a home visit, and an adoption agreement to help determine if a specific dog is the right fit for your unique household. Our team is committed to a non-judgmental, thoughtful approach that prioritizes the long-term well-being of our dogs.
Join Our Community
We invite you to be the beginning of the best part of these dogs' stories. Whether you are ready to adopt, interested in becoming a foster family, or want to support our mission through volunteering, there are many ways to get involved. Please visit our website to view our adoptable dogs or contact us to start your journey today.
