Gateway Humane Society Inc.
Our Mission
Gateway Humane Society is dedicated to finding loving homes for stray and surrendered animals. As the only public, non-profit, no-kill animal rescue shelter in our local area, we are committed to providing every animal a second chance, no matter how long it takes.
Our History
Our organization began over thirty years ago when a passionate group of volunteers started caring for animals in their own homes. This journey culminated in 2006 when we built our modern facility in Falls Creek, Pennsylvania, allowing us to officially open our doors to the public in 2008.
How We Care
Our shelter is a clean, professional environment designed for the comfort of our residents, featuring dedicated spaces for up to thirty-two dogs and fourteen cats. We pride ourselves on maintaining the highest standards of care and cleanliness, a commitment that our visitors frequently notice and appreciate. As an organization that relies entirely on generous public, private, and business donations, every contribution directly supports the well-being of the animals in our care.
The Adopter Connection
We believe that until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains un-awakened. We are not breed-specific, which means we work hard to match every individual with the perfect companion for their lifestyle. Our team of staff and volunteers is dedicated to facilitating these joyful partnerships, ensuring that every transition to a forever home is a success.
